A trip to the pumpkin patch

Our family went to Country Pumpkins this weekend and it was so much fun! The only way the day could have been even more perfect was if it had been 20 degrees cooler.  Haha, unlikely for October in Mississippi.

We are hoping to go back in a couple weeks and hopefully will have cooler weather.

Trip to Gulf Shores, AL

Our family went to Gulf Shores, AL the week of Labor Day this year. The weather was nice and it was not very crowded. It was the perfect mix of fun, sun and relaxation. :)

I'm already counting down until we go back next year.

Summer wrap up

Savannah started back preschool today and Hayley started 4th grade last week. I guess that means summer is officially over for us. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little bit happy to be back in a more structured routine. Also, I'm really looking forward to fall!

The only pics I have are crappy phone quality but here we go:

Next week (week of Labor Day) we are going to the beach! I am so very excited about this and it will be Savannah and Donovan's first time at the beach. Hopefully, I will have lots of pictures to share.

Weekend Recap

Hi! I am so looking forward to a long weekend and celebrating the 4th this week! We had the best weekend and all of the photos I took are phone camera quality but still sweet to me. ;)

On Thursday, Josh had a rare weekday off so I loaded up the girls and took them to the local "Slip and Dip" (which is basically a pool and water slide ride) while Josh stayed home with Donovan. The day was nice and we had fun but the heat index was 109. I could feel my skin burning even with sunscreen and we had to mad dash to the pool because the concrete was on fire!

On Saturday, we decided to take the kids to Tupelo for some family fun. We hit up Chuck E. Cheese and then ate the best lunch at the Rib Shack. It was such a fun day and the kids were exhausted (as was I) by that evening.

Sunday was a relaxing day of doing nothing but laundry and grocery shopping. My favorite kind of day. :)

My girls!
Bath buddies last night.

I hope everybody has a safe and happy 4th of July!!

Today, I choose joy.

We all have things in life that make our heart happy. For me, it is watching my kids play and run through water like it is the best thing they have ever done. There is this "spray ground" (splash pad) near our house that we love to visit. It costs $3 to get in and the kids have the best time running through the water and playing. I could spend hours just watching them run and play their little hearts out. What more can I ask for?

Here are some pictures from one of these outings. I adore these pictures! You can just see the joy on their faces and that makes my heart so happy.

*Picture overload ahead*
